Antique Furniture from The Getty Center

If you love antique furniture then you will love The Getty Center's collection of pieces. Located in Los Angeles, The Getty Center is free and well worth a trip for the many stunning works of art it contains.

Below are some highlights from their great furniture collection, most of which is from the 18th century. The work and attention to detail that went into these handmade pieces is amazing, especially when you realize these pieces have managed to survive the last 300 years.

While I wouldn't necessarily want the rooms in my house to be this formal, I wouldn't mind a few of these wonderful pieces or to have my office look a little bit more like the two rooms below. It would certainly help me craft more British house party scenes for my Regency romance novels.

I'd love to have a fire burning in a fireplace like this one while I write.

Running late in the morning wouldn't be so bad with a stunning clock like this on the wall.

Imagine some of these in your entryway. What gorgeous ways to welcome guests into your home.

Until the furniture in my home looks a little bit more like the ones above, I can use these pictures for inspiration. I hope you also find some inspiration in The Getty Center's fabulous furniture collection.

If you do, please check out my novels because I describe lots of gorgeous furniture in them.
