Guernsey's Auctioneers in New York is auctioning off the Movie Star News collection of photographs. It is a collection of over three million photos covering Hollywood and movies stars from the 1930's until the present. Stills from the Wizard of Oz, Rebel Without a Cause and other classic films are available. There are also beautiful pictures of actors and actresses like Elizabeth Taylor and Clark Gable which highlight the glamour that was old Hollywood.
I wish I could get a few, especially the ones from behind the scenes of Gone With the Wind. It is my favorite movie and the stories behind the making of it helped inspire my novel Studio Relations. There are some beautiful pictures of Vivien Leigh and a very dashing Clark Gable.
You can read about the auction and see a sampling of the pictures by following the link below.
Or see and read more about it by checking out the article in the Daily Mail.

In other news today, I picked up two books today.
Everybody's Historic London by Jonathan Kiek
It's a travel book for history buff with old pictures of London landmarks. A nice book for when I'm doing research.
Pearl Harbor Ghosts by Thurston Clarke.
It is an in-depth look at December 7, 1941 from the viewpoint of people, military and civilian who were there.
